ABC Set to Report That Matthew Shepherd Was Killed During Robbery, Not Hate Crime
I fully expect all the blame directed towards Christians and conservatives to be retracted. Ok, not really.
ABC does mention that this doesn't impugn the debate after Shepherd was killed regarding hate crimes. I'm tired of the liberal noble lie, but they have a point. "Rogerberta Menchu may be a complete liar, but what she's saying is true." "The documents may be fake, but they still have a lot of truth in them." Blah, blah, blah...
I never liked hate crime legislation. It criminalized thoughts we could never be too sure about. And do we want to criminalize motivation or the crime itself? I always felt that these concerns should be addressed as mitigating factors in sentencing, not as a separate crime.
